paper goblin


I hear a voice that says  "You should assemble real Goblin500 quickly!" from around me .

But I tried to produce a paper canopy type of goblin.

paper-canopy is a favorite canopy,
because cost-performance is so good.

I have bought goblin500, So,I tried to mimic it.

However, in order to create paper-canopy, I must write a pattern to allow draping first.

So, I decided to wake up pattern with 3DCG software .

3dsmax.

First, I need to get the three sides of the goblin figure that would be helpful.

 I can't get the drawing, I decided to go with the photos.







Goblin500 photos of the original design has been up to HELIDIRECT site, I decided to use it. (Because It has a picture right beside and front,above)to guide modeling.



I modeled with reference to this guide.



I converted to the exploded view this modeling per each side,.



I've teamed up to try once in three dimensions at this stage.



Something big. Reduced 95%, and then paste it into a 2D drawing software. development view this, now, I draw the facade design.



I draw the tail as well.

This is the trial version. Logo of the tail, it says 500 originally, I write 100, so 100 class heli.

Also to seem Goblin's skid, I decided to put the option parts.



I compare it to the actual canopy.



Somehow, how well the range permitted?

By the way, This is a full brushless mini cp.
In the previous flight, wiring of the tail motor was broken when I crashed.



Tail boom made from a solid rod with outside wiring seems to beat with the rotor.

Where hits a tip of the rotor, would break the wirering.

meaning the protection of this also use this full cowl.

It is a temporary form for trial version.

mini cp full brushless


Mini cp that changed to brushless motor had been derelict for a while.
Because the tail is unstable and  motor stops suddenly.
I've tried various method to improve.
As a result The symptoms is improved, and It got to fly straight somehow.
Simple two measures below,
1. To change BLHELI tail configuration.
2. To increase capacity of the battery prevent from cutting Motor.
I got to fly finally some decent mini cp.

It's nearly beyond recognition.
Unfortunately the weather is cloudy in the high winds, But I tried to do Pirouette-Flip and do the retreat Upside down turning flight. During flight tail is stable.
It is ugly because I have no technique, video shows the aircraft flying straight somehow.


New Helicopter kit has arriving! ! ! ! !


Many things had arrived while business trip.

I tried to compare the size.

Goblin is pretty big.
The name is goblin500,But it seems 550 size class.
This time,I bought it from EIJI-ya, that shop is in Aomori. It was the first time to buy the aircraft within Japan.
I had been the good impression,because domestic shop can advice for mechanism.
I have consulted to select a motor to be mounted in the 500 classes motors from the name of 500 initially, I get the advice these motors are too small.
So I was looking for various 550 class motors among the length that fits goblin.
I eventually select Scorpion HK Ⅲ 4020 1350KV that manufacturer recommends.
I am satisfied to the advice when I look at the size of the actual heli size.
I had been watching parts which are subdivided in order of manual, Especially  I had spent a long time to watching heavyweights which are packed in the sponge form.

So slow to assemble, to fly I'm actually going to be a few months later.

Off-line meeting


On April 5th,Friday.
It was fine day and almost no wind.
For RC helicopter,I can not hope any other day.
On such a day, I made ​​a off-line meeting in somewhere Osaka with Mr. N and Mr. hobiru.
I carryed two V120D02Ss and two mini-cps.
I crashed several times,But My heli survived almost intact.
Meanwhile, there was a scene to be surprised at the height of the local repair technology of Mr. Hobiru.
Mr, Hobiru crashed master CP several times, But It had re-emerged without repair almost each time.
Finally Tail blade cracked,
And I thought It was the end of that day.

But He started to do something alone.

I've looked what he is doing, He was cutting carbon plate to the shape of a tail blade with a cutter.
Repair completed screwed carbon plate to the broken blade's remains two places.

Only 10 minutes between them.
However, the width is clearly wider than original blade and the length is shorter, furthermore He doesn't take rotor's balance.
It doesn't fly without vibration that would normally.
Mr.Hobiru said that increasing the blade width because blade length is short.
In, take-off as it is.
Videos shows first flight at that time.


That was flying without incident. It is a victory of the sense .
Is Master CP good? or Is Repair technology of Mr. Hobiru good?
Even so,Tail blade is only thing that was broken excepting bending tail pipe In the  multiple crash.
Durability of Master CP is a bit of surprise.
